Before buying gold jewelry the most common advice that our alumni and friends tend to give is to check the karat mark or jewelry. Questions like “Is this stamp jewelry” or “Do you wear jewelry 24 K” are the most frequently asked questions about their gold jewelry. If you are unsure what these terms mean you do not know the value of her jewels. You need to know these terms if you want to know about your jewelry, and its value if the jewel is genuine or not.
Let’s take a quick look at what these terms mean.
Karat – Gold in its pure form can not fend for itself because it is very soft, and less heat to melt. Pure gold can be strong and malleable when mixed with an alloy material. The amount of gold remaining after mixed alloys is determined by the term carat or Kt / K. Ideally, the words that tell you how much your gold is pure. 24K gold is the purest form of gold with 99.9% gold and is very yellow. But 24K gold is the better buy, since it is sweet and needs lots of attention. Moreover 24 karat gold jewelry is still very expensive as are other less carats, mainly due to the existence of large quantities of pure gold in it.
